Brain Dance — Intro
What is the Brain Dance?
Developed by leading dance educator Anne Green Gilbert, the Brain Dance is a movement structure for the body and brain that moves through eight fundamental patterns of early human development. It helps the brain reorganize, oxygenate and recuperate, prepares us for learning for an exam or presentation, or wakes us up after sitting for long periods. It increases our energy and reduces stress.
Teachers, you now have it at your fingertips to play for your class! Teaching Artist Ashley leads the instruction, and it's the perfect way to start your students' day or a great mid-day refocusing tool. Turn your day on or around with the Brain Dance!
This 17-minute version introduces and explains each of the eight movements and how they energize and focus the body.
